The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Teaser Is Here, Unveiling Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. It was showcased in a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the forthcoming animated feature.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will send Mario to the far corners of the cosmos. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
An Interstellar Journey Based on Classic Games
Similar to the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will depart from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will meet again some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a fan favorite from the original cinematic release.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Come Back and Grow
The feature will feature once again of the initial voice actors, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
A Big Year for Mario
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is scheduled to arrive around the time of the four-decade milestone of the original Super Mario Bros. game. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a significant year for Mario and his allies.
