Disturbing Footage Shows Instant Law Enforcement Suffer Blade Attacks in Surprise Attack
A police sergeant who rushed to the aid of a partner that was assaulted by a knife attacker has been awarded the Royal Recognition for Bravery.
Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-yr-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he placed a knife to the neck of his fellow officer Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver after a road collision in the area in July 2023.
Brown knifed and cut the two Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a stun gun.
"Officer knifed," the constable was heard to say over his communication device.
Bodyworn and vehicle camera recording shared by the force depicted Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a head covered, approach to Sgt Foster from the rear with a knife extended.
He collided with the policeman who lost balance and dropped to the street, before Sgt Ansell stepped in and struggled to restrain him to the floor even though being repeatedly struck with the blade.
PC Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and awaited a safe opportunity, concluding the confrontation to an conclusion.
Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "I need assistance on my throat here, I've been stabbed in the neck."
Sergeant Ansell received multiple deep cuts to his neck and further wounds to his arms and torso, while Sergeant Foster suffered knife wounds.
Officials said Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to control his colleague's bleeding prior to paramedics arrived.
This most recent award arrives after the three officers won internal Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the police federation award from the area union branch in April 2024.
They further earned a Area Bravery Award in summer 2024.
"The responses of all three officers eventually rescued each other and meant no bystanders endured any injuries."
Brown was sentenced to an secure medical confinement in early 2024, according to the department.
